No Return
Taking a slow boat down the Eau Claire River, that white dot in the trees in the distance is a Bald Eagle, gone by the time I got the big lens out. Took this Image from an overpass shortly after the river flows over the Lake Eau Claire dam.
Scouting the river from this high viewpoint a black bear careened across the river in a full run.....oddly enough the Black Bear Lodge sits within a hundred yards of the shallows where the bear crossed....things that make you go hummmmm!
Thanks for your comments on the my image "Shiny Shores" yesterday.... The Steak Pit Restaurant sits on a hill overlooking Lake Superior and the Washburn Marina....watching the beautiful sunset unfold before our eyes I went out during dinner and took some great shots of the marina. My image "Washburn Sunset" came in at number thirty nine in my most popular image's. Most nights on our trips we sit down at the dinner table and try to figure out what went wrong that day and which direction to go in the morning.

Shiny Shoreline
Found this wall mural at The Steak Pit in Washburn Wisconsin, seems like it was twenty feet long and back lit, if you are in the area it is a real nice place to eat. People are eating right below this cropped shot and they think i'm taking their picture, I thought it was cool hope you do as well, it certainly is something you don't see everyday.

Omaha Blues
The thing is the midwest has the best sunsets, I'm not a real sunset or sunrise kind of guy but from time to time I stumble out the door in time to catch an image that should hang in the establishments I frequent with my friends, say for a cold one or some BBQ.....
Downtown Omaha Nebraska
The blustery cold front pushes out this afternoons low clouds to expose the wide contrails of planes gone by. The upper level winds ahead of the front were nonexistent so the contrails stay for hours and just get wider as the day grows longer, the pink at the horizon behind the bridge are those contrails being pushed over the horizon for Texas to enjoy tomorrow. As it was we left a perfect reflecting pool of water for the computer. It snowed an inch on our mountain top this morning shortly after the wonderful sunrise.... that I missed.
Thanks to all the Daily folks for stoping by to see my images, I appreciate all of your wonderful comments, I get better, looking at your work, your great images cause me to go out and lay in geese dung for a couple of hours in freezing temps to get images like this one, again.... Thanks for taking the time to look at my images.26NOV2012

Dr.Tom Osborne and Head Coach Bo Pellini walk the 2012 Nebraska Cornhuskers out of the tunnel to a standing ovation, it's Senior Day as well.
The Huskers will go on to beat the Minnesota Gophers at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln Nebraska 38-14 as the 325th sell out crowd cheered them on, the longest sellout streak in NCAA history.

Husker Nation is content...kind of a caddy shack day, in the end...the gophers loose.
I had to chase these guys for a block or two to get the shot, out of breath and a block away this was the best I could do.
Enjoyed the day with Phil, Janet and Marsha.

Flying High
Take a moment to think about Veterans Day.....If service to our Country was compulsory everyone would be a Veteran, an American not a Republican or Democrat left or right. Maybe then all humans that live under our flag would be as important as another human, equal, a National commodity.....not given special treatment or status above others.
It's Kristy's Birthday today....an incredible young woman, flying high in search of her dreams, everyday is a great day because you came into ours 28 years ago today, love ya...Happy Birthday!

Big Sky
The massive storm approaches the fruited plains.....
It's Friday at last....let me know how this looks.
Wonderful feedback, I was wanting to use this in the next N4C photography contest.....the land here undulated in such shear contrast with the sun is setting behind me and yes it is quite windy the grass is moving as well as the sky.08NOV2012
Old Blue
This bluejay I think is the oldest in the fleet...from what I see the older they are the lighter the color blue they have, the black is darker and the skin around their beak is darker than the newbys. This old boy has a serious cut below his beak....he still rules the roost.

Fall Falls
Cole Creek flows over Twelve Foot Falls with a good bit of flow on the way to Eight Foot Falls just around the bend. This fall sits in a county park and is fairly easy to navigate, drive right up, eat your lunch on the large granite boulders that line the riverside. Marinette County Wisconsin has some wonderful waterfalls in close proximity to each other, many small lakes and great fall foliage.
Wonderful "pink" day yesterday!

Best Seat On The House
Passing the Arch in St.Louis, tugboat Leviticus is a mile away under full power and moving downstream, fast. A long way from Wilmington Delaware the season will be coming to an end soon as the water flow slows on the Missouri River.
We are on the bank in East St. Louis shooting across the river toward the Arch..... I would not suggest doing this. Amazing what a state border and a quarter mile of river does to society, no place in America can the wealth -vs- poverty disparagement be seen better than where I am standing. We drove through the projects and the burned out old downtown to get this Image.
A crew member phones from the rear deck of Leviticus....He can see all of downtown St. Louis, the Arch and a couple of miles up river.....I thought I had a great view, go figure.....all in a days work.
Thanks for looking... GO HUSKERS... and have a great weekend!www.photoperson.comtugboatmissourieast st. louisst. louisillinoismissouri riverboatsvehicletransportationleviticus

Dark Shadows
Our great neighbor Donna has a Maple tree that has turned a silent rust color in direct sun, I moved to the other side of the house to capture this image with the tree as the backdrop. Soon our nights turn cold and we descend below freezing, our feathered friend are finding materials for their nest to protect them all winter. Soon we move our feeding site to a higher location in the yard the Grackles and Starlings return and the Robins and Bats head south for the Winter.
Most years the image background changes to raw tree bark or snow around Halloween here in Omaha, on our way to three or four nights this year being 25 degree's below zero.....will he make it through those nights. This spring and summer has seen an increase of our sparrow covey by !00 percent with some days requiring extra feed because of so many birds.
Let me know how I did, please leave me a comment.22OCT2012

The Half Built
The siding locomotive has cleaned up the industrial area supporting bulk transportation when the half built train out of downtown Omaha Nebraska arrives to couple up the units that will complete a westbound run. On the mainline a train is clipping by at thirty miles per hour toward them. Here they have the opportunity to change crews for the run back West. Mass transit of goods to the populous 2181 is in full power grinding out the slow grade to West Omaha.
The train from where I have my tripod set up is a mile away, I am under a bridge where it is nice and dark, you can just drive right up to great locations just like this in any town America ....please don't do this at home, stay off the tracks.
Thanks to Frank Keller for the inspiration to shoot better composed train images! I know your town has that same great shot!www.photoperson.comunion pacific railroadomahanebraskatrains

Eastbound Freight
The right of way down by the tracks are starting to light up with Fall colors.
We spent the better part of an hour here before being escorted from the railroads property....by police.
There was some other commotion going on behind the train in this image....the next place the officer said he was going.
I've spent many hours on the tracks....never had the experience we had yesterday...some things just make you go hummmmm.
At least they didn't confiscate the card in the camera, got a few good images.....what do you think of this?
Thanks for all your wonderful comments on the Beautiful Bridge image yesterday.....it was like finding a needle in a haystack when I found that view next to the stream.
I try to comment on all the days images....sorry if I miss yours occasionally......your images make me better!
Thanks John for the insight from your Country, I think we were in the wrong place at the wrong time. An event was happening behind the trail just off the tracks, the officer was a great guy and a great friend of mine has a son on the force so our Police are mindful people have cameras and video at their fingertips. None the less this is a busy railroad and they are working, in fact we had three past us in an hour and a lot of switching as we are at the head of a urban industrial yard or dump and a crew switch point area .....their nervous too, and you have a large lens on that camera. Omaha Nebraska is the railroad town of America, headquarters of the Union Pacific Railroad, they make our economy resilient to sharp fluctuations and take our agri- business related products to markets around the world, safely and efficiently day after day.www.photoperson.comunion pacific railroadtrainlocomotiveomahanebraska

Beautiful Bridge
It takes your breath away when you see a shot like this in a slow moving stream, a second and a half exposure at F22 ....Mc Clintoch Falls County Park Wisconsin at 1 pm.
This area is a treasure trove of wonderful scenic beauty throughout the year, there are a few CCC lodges scattered in the park with hiking trails leaving the Park in all directions.

Morgan Falls
Quite hard to find five miles down a dirt trail, a real nice waterfall to navigate around, great foliage and the water here runs east to west, has nice light all day long.
We drove past the trailhead twice on this trip and never found it last year, persistence pays off. In the middle of bear country, saw none, they are where they find you.waterfallwww.photoperson.comwisconsinfall foliagemorgan falls
