On the way to Crater Lake. Navigating the Cascade Creek trail to Crater Lake Colorado you must follow the endless waterfalls that ramble next to the route. Stunning falls and cascades are around every switchback. One of the most brutal hikes i've had the pleasure of hiking with my son, it was also one of the most scenic.

Thanks for all the great wonderful comments.....and even all those harsh ones too. I do try to comment on your images also, there are so many gifted and talented folks here, I'm glad to be amongst y'all. Hope you all have a great sunset tonight!

Thanks Julieanne, your right this is a film shot that Sams put on a disk when i got my film developed, not the best quality....guess i got to go back and get a better quality image, not looking forward to the brutal hike....maybe those youngsters i take this next year will take it easy on me, stop to smell the forest, listen to the water as it cascades thru the majestic valley.

Siskiwit Falls Wisconsin. Located in Bayfield County, this is one of many falls flowing on the Siskiwit River, which is a small river that flows through Cornucopia, a small quaint harbor community located on Lake Superior.

We are sure to drive many miles out of our way at times to visit waterfalls. I have photos of falls in all seasons with different flow rates. Water is always on the trip planner, sometimes we go specifically for falls. Often weather can cause us to change direction in the middle of a trip just to get a high water shot. I have learned going to a waterfall in a drought area is not good, as it is also not pleasant to see hard working Americans displaced by water.

With the sensors cleaned i went out to the backyard and got a few images of what i feed throughout the year. My nieghbors tree is at peek color and it helps me here, soon to be gone though it snowed and inch and half Wednesday. Thanks for your comments! Have a great weekend....GO HUSKERS!
The tree behind the sparrow has no sun on at all so the true leaf color and shape is what you see, blurred of course caused by d.o.f. it blew me away. Any light on the leaf and the bokeh occurs.... f14 causes the branch in its entirety to be in focus...thanks for looking close at what im doing and commenting.

This is the pedestrian bridge from Omaha Nebraska to Council Bluffs Iowa. The National Park Service building sits on the south side of the bridge on the Nebraska side. This view is looking east towards Iowa. The poles coming out of the ground that are purple have glass luminating ends on them, not lit tonight. We had a hard time getting the puple lights to come on and with the high wind we had Saturday night the tops of these were swaying causing the wierd reflections between the bridge supports. You can have a fun night in Omaha, it has a lot to offer....no snow yet! Thanks Paul!

Old Rock Mill, Maribel Wisconsin. Built as a sawmill and converted to a grist mill in the 1850's The mill operated until 1934 when the dam was destroyed by a flood. At the time of use it used an overshot wheel, the stantion to the rear of the mill was the raceway support system that continued behind the mill northwest bound roughly five hundred yards to the Devil's River. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, 1982 it now is a Museum with multiple buildings of the period and a campground is located on the hill overlooking the mill. The mill is in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin. Multiple rustic roads are located within the surrounding area. Three lighthouses are within twenty miles of the mill and the surrounding agribusiness communities yield a high concentration of barns also. A great area to view fall foliage it seems to lag slightly behind the trend due to its location below the edge of a surrounding plateau.

 • Peninsula State Park from across Eagle Harbor, Lake Michigan. This was by far and away the best area for fall foliage in Door County Wisconsin. Portions of the park were closed as a few days prior to our arrival a storm generating high winds toppled trees throughout the park. There is a lighthouse and a golf course in the park. The structure is a lookout tower that gives you a birds eye view of the harbor a few island's and Lake Michigan. The road system in the park is borderd by dense forest with only a few pullouts for viewing the lake so the tower offers the best view for miles.....thanks for the great comments and questions too!!!!

 • Shot some great wall art the other day. This was an incredible wall, such attention to detail. The business was a metal fabrication facility. I shoot with all canon equipment and yesterday"s shot was with a 5d mark two, the bird was 60 feet out and i used a 400mm 2.8 non-IS with a 2x converter in low light.....all day. I also used a set of remotes, i found they reduced shake the most. I mentioned i was shooting all day....... This bird just happened to be here this week and is just traveling to South America or wherever it Winter"s. Thanks for the early b-day gift of the remotes Paul, Nini, Reddi and Cheech! Thanks all for all the great comments and questions too!!!!

 • Calm at last. With the hawk gone from the backyard the covey enjoys time to sit and chirp with their buddies. Not a reflection, just another sparrow on a branch behind.

 • The sparrow muncher is back. He thins out the covey of sparrows we have in the backyard. With mostly in air attacks it is so impressive to watch it hunt for his meals, although it is quite brutal. It just got through raining and it is about 30 yards out, we got six shots before he left the yard.

 • La Salle falls hides at the end of the road we thought was never going to end, so far into the woods the road narrowed down to the tree limbs rubbing the sides of the car. The hike to this waterfall was long, strenuous and filled with gunshots of bearhunters in the near distance, not a good place to be guiding people though the color was spectacular. Knee deep twenty feet out into the river this was the way it looked, my feet enjoyed the cold water.
Hard to see when the crops are high they were just starting to harvest the field next to the barn. Foliage was at the peak here and we were blown away with the beauty of this great state, what a find for the barn portfolio. Thanks for the awesome comments everyone!!!!

 • Deep into badger country we are at Mc Clintock falls when i spot this bald eagle 200 yards out. We are as far into the woods as we get on this trip....so i am told. Wisconsin Rustic Road 32 was the best foliage in the whole state hands down, the falls are just a half mile off this road. America the beautifull happens here daily, many miles from civilization this is a must see spot. Traveling almost two thousand miles this trip we saw little wildlife, so when i spotted this eagle i ran to the car and got out the 400mm threw on the 2x converter and got four rounds off before it flew away. Before leaving Nebraska we maped out all the rustic roads of Wisconsin, specifically looking for fall foliage, the state becons with beauty on these roads, we found so many great photography opportunities on these roads we could have stayed for many days....
