14MAR2013 State Line Trestle Happy Birthday Mom, your inspiration is overwhelming. Five Seventeen crosses the South Omaha Bridge into Nebraska from Iowa....this spans the Missouri River. Omaha is railroad, our town here was built on and by it, hundreds of feet North is the Harriman Center which controls all the Union Pacific trains in America....they use the left side on this bridge. A full mile away at 400mm 517 is closing at twenty five knots as the sun sets behind me.....hand held, single exposure. Thanks for taking the time to look at my work, let me know what you think, thanks.
13MAR2013 Angry Lake So i've been archiving it the last few weeks trying to take care of all that stuff you put off till the day you must do it....my image "Stockade Lake North" I did four days ago reached the top twenty of all time for me.....so taking a look back and reprocessing with the new processes available and your better processing skills is sure worth the time, plus I'm writing more as well for the book. Loon Lake Wisconsin at the end of the Fall foliage change. Although this was great color and scenery it was far short of what we saw throughout the State. Each year we take a tour of the State and travel the best sites we have found over the past ten years. We are gone up to two weeks on this trip with camping mostly in the Wisconsin wilderness though most areas are quite accessible as a day trip then to town at night.....we just love sitting next to the fire and scrolling through the Images we spent the day collecting. Camping in the rain....not so much fun....somehow it makes life much better when your home in your comfy bed. Spring foliage change is just around the corner here and north.....Nisha and Paul must have flowers by now. Thanks for looking......have a great day!
10MAR2013 Duck Blind View Nothing but the Trumpeter Swans remain on the lake....it was as if they were asking each other...where they all going? One point five million Geese at Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge last month. Have a great Sunday, thanks for looking.....please leave me a comment.
08MAR2013 Frozen In Time A frozen rural farm scene we ran across while chasing the balloons across Wisconsin. Thanks for all the wonderful comments on the Image I call "Stockade Lake North" it went into my top twenty five of all time....wow, thanks for looking at my work! Its Friday...........Yea!
07MAR2013 Stockade Lake North Just east of Custer South Dakota sits this little lake nestle in the rocky hillside.... The cold front is upon us.... blowing snow and rain shortly after this shot. Another dad crop for y'all! Thanks for looking, have a great day!
05MAR2013 Morning Flight Five below zero out this is the first gone of the day. Over the fields of Hudson Wisconsin. Thanks for all the wonderful comments on yesterdays train shot...hope you enjoy this one as well.
04MAR2013 The Whole Train Rural Iowa with the Union Pacific. 400mm out Westbound 7500 rounds the bend in the Boyer River canyon to Woodbine Iowa, number three in the siding....the more important train headed eastbound will be coal straight from the coal fields of Wyoming or the refrigerated out of the fruit belt of southern California... the battery on the camera is going dead midway through the shoot add to that its cold and just plain crappy out. Not what I started out looking for 7500 came into sight midway around the corner, closing speed of 75mph we are lucky to find a crossing and get set up, the camera goes dead midway to the second frame....
