Sunset bridge...

Found this in a park next to the Currituck Beach Lighthouse, take time to stop here this was one of the most scenic sunset's i have witnessed for a long time, Blue heron's, cranes, geese, a whole plethora of waterfowl show up here. Three miles north is the Currituck National Wildlife Refuge home of cape's wild horse population. The area is also known for great seashell gathering and Kill Devil Hills is just twenty miles south. This would be a place to bring your paddle craft i saw many photo op's just off the shoreline that would have been awesome provided the temperature was acceptable.

Thanks for all the great comments, wishing all a Happy New Year. #1 Dec. 31st 2011 Thanks go out to Paul Jr. who forces me to get better....Linda who shows me the direction even if it is the internationally known i'm # one sign....Linda's great without her these pictures don't get to you.... the also great DAILY community, thanks for looking hope to see you out on the trail and in the backcountry this year.....let me know how i can help you get there!

Halftime....

The sun drops below the mainland America, sunset from Currituck Beach North Carolina.

Good morning......have a great week!

Have a nice lunch Harsh......

Let me know who's your favorite team tonight? Go LSU !
Beer bottle hill...

The large structure in this shot is the Catholic Holly Shrine in Gretna Nebraska. With a real nice sunset view and the valley lights this spot seems secluded, the remains of prior festivities linger on the ground here so we named it.
Motocross phenom James Stewart....

Described by the fastest man on two wheels Ricky Carmichael during our interview...."I'm the fastest man on two wheels...James is from another planet." This photo taken at Redbud Michigan shows the roost encircling James as he catapults out of the corner.

So... i have been working with the scanner and the guy at b-b told me off i didn't think the scanner was that good to take a picture of the picture with my digital camera in good light then compare that image to the scanned one....camera wins! Although this is a crude quick version of this shot it took me less than five minutes to set the 8x10 up in some good light and real off a shot. the original was taken with a Canon 200mm 1.8 lens on a Canon A2E body at 1200....it was almost raining. Since i have just converted over to digital only four months ago i want to process some of the awesome shots i have in the box already.....help me figure it out....point out the bad ...and the good. Your help is appreciated.
Stingray Bottoms...

A stingray basks in the morning sun on the river bottom.
The twisted fence..

Found this at a place called the Flying Pig in Wisconsin just south of Kewaunee on HWY 42.... kind of an eclectic place, one of those places people that suffer from ideation go to for direction, project development or sensory facilitation and or reimplementation.....They are harmless, the Red Green show was on when I walked in, can't wait to stop back by.
Sturgeon Bay Canal Light.

Inside the Coast Guard Facility this Lighthouse is off limits to the public the North Pierhead Light you are able to walk out to just across the island from it. The black catwalk out the jetty is impressive.

Flatrock Falls....

Desperate for water shots the canyon is quickly getting dark, my trip coordinator looks even darker, I take a series of quick shots above the fall and turn in for the night. We know the area is full of bear and they are close by, the foliage is scary dense surely could hold a den for a few of the man-eaters. Bears are where they find you, in this area it's a mistake not to pay attention to your surroundings. A pissed off bear is not the happy bear especially when your in the creek shooting and he's pacing on the bank next to you, you have walked right into him.
Small craft advisory....

The Bar Crossing into Pamlico Sound

Eight to ten foot sea's is what the captain told me as we boarded the ferry at Cedar Island to get to Ocracoke Island on the last ship out, a two and a half hour tour it can be on of the funnest things to do for so little money, fifteen bucks a car.

The ferry is in the somewhat safe deep water of the channel, this shot shows you the shallow "bar" or "sandbar" in proximity to the boat. The ride was uneventful and a great trip....i wouldn't want to be in a boat crossing the bar to sea or entering the sound....that would have been a bad ride....a three hour tour....a three hour tour comes to mind.
